Martin was elected for his contibution to community support during Covid and his efforts for setting up and managing the hot meal home delivery service for local people. Annual OAP Christmas Dinner
Over 60 people sat down to enjoy the annual OAP Group Christmas Dinner at the Hall on Wednesday 8th December. Catering supplied in-house by chefs Martin, Claire and volunteers.
Cwmllynfell Hall’s First Panto!
The first panto in the Hall is on Saturday 18th December at 6.00pm. Adults accompanying their children go free – “O, yes they do!”. Call in at the Hall for tickets and more information about the show and ticket prices. Or contact Martin on the Hall’s Facebook page.
Ever popular fish & chips meal!
OAP members are seen tucking into a traditional meal of fish & chips in the Hall. Martin’s secret batter recipe is very popular amongst diners. They keep on coming for more!
Afternoon Tea in the Hall
Afternoon teas are a popular attraction in the Hall. It’s a friendly and comfortable place to meet with friends for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee with a wide range of delicious cakes and sandwiches. After the covid lockdowns it’s a safe way of meeting up with friends again.
County Darts League Tournament
The Hall is being prepared to stage the Breconshire County Darts team for a Super League competition. Cwmllynfell Hall has become a popular venue for darts and short mat bowls competitions because of its facilities.
The Cinema comes to the Hall
The big sceen comes to the Hall for the first time. By popular demand the main hall was used to show films, with refreshments on offer. It was a trial run to see if it would become a regulalr feature.
Cheque from Cwmllynfell Community Council
The Chair of Cwmllynfell Community Council, Cllr Martin Evans (on the right), handed a cheque for £4,000 to the Hall Manager, Martin Harries, to support the community takeaway and home delivery meal service operated by Neuadd Cwmllynfell Hall during the Covid-19 pandemic. The grant will go towards the cost of a new freezer, meal packaging and other essential items. The Hall is grateful to the Council for its continued support.
S4C Returns to Film the Hall’s Takeaway Service

S4C called at the Hall to follow up on their programme on the home delivery meal service that Neuadd Cwmllynfell Hall had set up to support local people during the Covid19 pandemic and lockdown. The project was aimed primarily at vulnerable people adversely affected by the pandemic. The S4C team were impressed by what the Hall has done during the Covid19 crisis for its residents and remarked on the great community spirit that exists in the village.
Hot Meal Delivery Service
With the support of Cwmllynfell Community Council, we are now making and delivering hot meals for local people during the coronavirus crisis. The low-cost meals are for people who are most affected by the pandemic. These may be pensioners, people living alone, people with a disability or ill health or those on a very low income. We are grateful to the volunteers who have come forward to help with deliveries. The meals will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 10.00am – 2.00pm. Orders are taken over the phone on 01639 831284. Every precaution will be taken to keep people safe, including our staff and volunteers.
